MindShare Helps Raise $100K+ For Cancer Cure
Marketing firm rallies around the "Relay For Life" cause in Waconia, Minn., to raise funds to find a cure.
(Waconia, MN) - MindShare Strategies joined forces with other local businesses and residents in Waconia, Minn., as part of the community's first annual "Relay For Life" event on Aug. 20, 2010. As a result of this community-based fundraiser, more than $100,000 was raised.
"Relay for Life" events, which are part of the overall American Cancer Society's initiatives to raise funds and awareness for cancer research, have been taking place nationwide. "Someone said we may have broken the national record for a first-time relay," said Karen Everett, vice president of administration for MindShare Strategies and the key organizer of MindShare's involvement in the event.
"We are pleased to be a part of this important community-based event," said Everett, "and look forward to future events that will help to raise awareness and funds to find the cure for cancer. We all know someone we love or care about who has been affected by cancer and the devastation it can have on lives. We feel it's important to continue to be part of this worthy cause to ultimately find a cure."
