Saddle Creek Names Vice President of Human Resources
Lakeland, Fla., Apr. 21, 2009 —Saddle Creek Corporation, a third-party logistics services company, has named Ruth Barnes as vice president of human resources.
Barnes will oversee human resources for more than 1,600 Saddle Creek employees at 46 facilities across the country. She will be based at Saddle Creek’s headquarters in Lakeland, Fla.
“Ruth brings an entirely new level of leadership skills that complement our strategic goals as a company,” said Mark Cabrera, senior vice president and chief financial officer at Saddle Creek. “Her experience in a variety of manufacturing environments will help her quickly identify with the needs and concerns of our customers and, in turn, align human resource efforts in a way that demonstrates value to those customers. I also expect she will be a notable contributor to our efforts to leverage technology and improve productivity.”
With more than 30 years of experience in human resources, Barnes brings a rich HR background to Saddle Creek. Since 1998, she has worked in various capacities for Behr America, a leading manufacturer of thermal management modules and systems for the automotive industry, most recently, at Behr’s North American headquarters in Troy, Mich. Before Behr, she worked at various companies, including ATA Airlines and Cummins, Inc., a manufacturer of power generation equipment and power systems. Barnes holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial management from Purdue University.
