MindShare Strategies is a full-service marketing agency specializing in transportation and logistics. We are seeking a qualified candidate for its available Marketing/PR internship position. This internship will take place January – April 2013, and will require 30 hours a week. The position is based in Waconia, Minnesota, just west of the Twin Cities.

This paid opportunity is for college students of senior level or higher, or a recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree. Days and hours are flexible. This is an excellent opportunity to build your resume and portfolio in a small-business environment!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The intern will support activities in our eight Practices: Strategy/Branding, Research, Media Relations/PR, Advertising, Digital Media, Direct Marketing/Collateral, Special Events, and Business Development/Sales. Duties include:

Assist in managing the tactical execution of MindShare’s marketing communication and sales promotion plan.
Conduct online market research (client projects, MindShare prospecting, etc.) and assist in client research project execution.
Writing assignments (including press releases, article briefs for newsletters and online channels, sales correspondence, etc.)
Assist in media relations/PR strategies, including research editorial plans, setting up editorial engagement campaigns in Agility, etc.
Entry of marketing-related data into reporting systems in MindShare’s CRM system (SalesForce), i.e., media relations and advertising clips, prospect contact information for sales, etc.
Manage publicity measurement by regularly entering successful publicity into online Public Relations Clip Report.
Execute direct mail campaigns, including mail preparation.
Cataloguing trade publications and other administrative duties as assigned.
Special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Abilities:

Senior or recent graduate at an accredited college or university.
Pursuing degree or achieved degree in marketing, communication or business. Cumulative GPA minimum: 3.2
Solid written communication skills (writing for print and web).
Creative individual; ability to apply conceptual thinking into overall creative process.
Strong verbal communications skills and professional phone presence
Proficient in keyboarding, likes computer work. Competency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Working knowledge of social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter)
